Make your Own Irish Cream for St. Patrick’s Day
[dropcap2]I[/dropcap2]n honor of St. Patty’s Day, I want to share with you the wonder of making Irish Cream. Homemade Irish cream is decadent and delicious, with a real whiskey kick. I promise you, Baileys will never taste the same again. You can put this in your coffee, drink it from a chilled glass, or bottle it to share with your friends. It is the very definition of adult chocolate milk.

Irish Cream Recipe
1 1/4 cups Irish whiskey (I used Bushmills)
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 can of sweetened condensed milk
1 tbsp espresso powder
1 tsp almond extract
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tbsp honey
•Put everything in a blender and mix it all up.
•Refrigerate and let the mixture sit for at least an hour to let the flavors meld.
•Shake vigorously before serving as the contents may settle. It should keep for up to two months in the refrigerator.

any honey recommended: clover, orange blossom? Also, looks like I’ll have to double this recipe so there’s some for other guests.. 😉

it makes about a 750ml bottle. it is very rich so a little goes a long way. I did make 3x recipe and gave away little bottles around Christmas time. I think the orange blossom honey tastes delicious in the mix. It is probably the only one you would taste as the other flavors are pretty strong, so even a less delicate honey would still taste great
