Happy Holidays
“It is the personal thoughtfulness, the warm human awareness, the reaching out of the self to one’s fellow man that makes giving worthy of the Christmas spirit.”

Congratulations to the winner of our 5 Ways to Wear It with Juicy Couture Holiday Giveaway!
I have an affinity for Mulled Wine, not only because my father is a certifiable wino (in the fact that he turned my mother’s office into a walk-in wine cellar, not that he is homeless and drinks out of a brown paper bag… not that there’s anything wrong with that…), but mostly because when I was 16, I spent 2 weeks of winter with a family in Grenoble, France, along the glorious French Alps.

Jesse Draper has built the business empire, Valley Girl Inc., by talking about, well, business. A refreshing twist on typical number-crunching suit shows, her syndicated web talk program, The Valley Girl Show, can be accurately described as “The Ellen DeGeneres Show for business.” A typical day on the set of The Valley Girl Show may involve pink umbrellas, boas, or pom-poms, in addition to any number of silly parlor games for the unsuspecting Silicon Valley entrepreneur. Dovetailing on the success of her show, Jesse has started a networking organization for women in business, revealing her soft spot for helping women navigate the stereotypically masculine working world.
The act of drinking began for many of us as a means to an end: a way to escape, a little liquid courage, or a social lubricant. As we grew into our drinking habit, that fast and loose attitude of ‘any drink will do’ was replaced with ‘I will never drink Merlot’ or some other distinction that we had developed over the course of testing our palate. As with boyfriends, over time, we figured out what we liked by test driving a number that we didn’t like.
For me, tech and travel is all about two things: power and connectivity. Comfort is a a very close second. I have built my life around being able to access nearly everything through an internet browser, so if I can’t get online, that is a problem.
When you’re a gadget girl like myself, the one thing you find scarce when you’re traveling is power. It’s hard to find a free outlet to charge your *insert gadget here* and when you’re up in the air, it is even more difficult to find power way up there. So here are my favorite gadgets to keep you powered up and connected whenever you venture out of your nest.
Brittany Ishibashi is an actress, seen most recently as Anne Ogami on USA’s Political Animals and soon to be seen on the CW’s Emily Owens, MD, but truly, she’s more accurately described as an artist. It was apparent at our first meeting more than a decade ago, that we were long lost twins. We bonded over a shared appreciation of corny jokes, dark chocolate and deep familial ties, and in return, she brought out the best in me: patience, generosity, and a joie de vivre. Upon meeting her, one is immediately struck by her bubbly charm and grace. However, what’s truly inspiring is her commitment to being an artist in all aspects of her life, and her dedication to keeping that spirit of play and childish wonder alive every day.
One of my favorite things about cocktails, is the the ability to drink a piece of history. With the advent of bartenders reaching for the classics and online communities like the Chanticleer Society built around finding lost and forgotten recipes from the pre-prohibition era, we are lucky as imbibers to be able to taste something that links us to our American roots.
With a penchant for puns and a touch of the sarcastic, Ashley is a refined nest of contradictions – one who is equally comfortable cracking a can of PBR or wearing a stunning pair of Louboutins. She is my favorite type-A personality, meticulous and detail-oriented, while still managing to emanate an effortless beauty that belies the administrator crunching numbers in her head.
